A slight Change of Plans

As things have moved along after selling Surf Tours Nicaragua, Theresa and I have had a few changes in the plan of what we are going to do. First, we moved to Leon after our departure from STN, and lived there for a month at La Isla, which is just a couple doors down from La Doctora's, where I normally stayed in Leon. It was a bit cheaper, and had a big, beautiful garden for the dogs, where they could tear around.

After a little over a month in Leon, a bit of travel around the country with Marc and Brownie, and some bad luck with Brisa, we decided that a move from Leon was a good idea, and have been in Granada living in a little house for the past 3 weeks. Spent the first couple of weeks feverishly applying for yobs in the US, but we have slowed down on that having realized that the market up there is a bit worse than we thought...

For now, we are recovering from a couple of nasty colds, waiting for our buddy Andy (Lazybones Hostel in Leon) to get our new family addition ready for us to take over. After almost 3 years of convincing, Theresa and I were finally able to talk him into selling us his 1976 VW Double Cab Pickup (like a bus in the front and a truck in the stern). We are stoked!

This is a picture of one somewhere in S. Africa...killer, eh? My buddy Brownie's dad had one when we were growing up, so I guess you could say that I have had a love affair with them since I was a kid!

We plan to stick out September here in Nica, preparing for the trip north and working toward getting The Ranch sold, and then we are off on our great adventure north.

More to come...
